Hi
My adult child wants to move back home!
We are on legacy ESA and if she moved home then I'm really worried this will trigger a move to UC ! As I can't afford the 5 week wait and we're not in a financial position to get one of the DWP's loans !! If the dwp make us migrate then they will cover some of the 5 weeks without money!
She works 16.5 hours a week and we know she will have to pick up the rent and council tax.. we are going to charge her 15 a week for utilitys she buys and cooks her own food!!
Any advice appreciated!
Regards

It will not necessitate a move to UC.
Do you and your partner get disability benefits? If so, does anybody else live with you and does your ESA include a Severe Disability Premium?Does your daughter claim any benefits?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Hi
ahh that’s good to hear !!So I take it I just call them once she’s in and tell them??No we get no disability benefits or anything
she don’t claim anything! -
You don’t need to ring ESA. If you’re claiming housing benefit then you will need to report the changes to your local Authority because there will be non dependent deductions. See link https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/housing_benefit_deductions_when_living_with_non_dependantsI would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

It's not a change of circumstances for your ESA.
