LCWRA, Mandatory Reconsideration.

Hi all, I have a couple of questions.

I have been awarded LCWRA (letter dated 11th November). Due to missed fit notes, they assessed the first payment due 2nd April 2023. I queried and the case manager said If I could supply the missing fit notes I could go to Mandatory Reconsideration. I have now received fit notes for the 2 missing periods. So the first question is, how often are reconsiderations successful?

Secondly, the reason for missing the first fit note (at the time) is that I was bad with Covid and this is what has been put on the fit note rather than the usual issue. Therefore would that affect the decision or is it more about having consecutive fit notes?

The reason I ask is that if successful it will be back-dated to the start of my UC claim in January so allowing the 3 months assessment period, it would be circa 7/8 payments!

Many thanks in advance for any help.

MR success rate is very low and only around 27% success rate. You are supposed to send fit notes without any gaps until a decision is made on your WCA. It will be down to a decision maker whether they decide to allow the backdated fit note for the missing periods.

Welcome to the community @xanadu76 :) Thank you for joining us!

I hope that poppy123456's comment has helped you to understand that a little more. I can imagine that this is a pretty uncertain time for you. Please do let us know if there's anything you're still feeling unsure about.

Have you now recovered from having coronavirus? I'm sorry to hear that you were quite unwell with it.

Thanks @poppy123456 I appreciate the reply. I thought it would be low so won't be holding my breath.

@Tori_Scope yes better now thank you, I'm immunosuppressed due to meds so was a bit of a worry.
