Spouse visa, ESA and my foreign wife's bank account

If I apply for a spouse visa and I meet 70% of my "adequate maintenance" through my ESA and the rest through PIP. Then my wife has some savings in her foreign bank account which would make me lose my income based ESA because it's over 16,000 then what happens?

If the spouse visa gets accepted, then suddenly I don't meet the requirements for adequate maintenance.

Would this be a problem and get my spouse visa denied? or will it only become a problem after I try to get a spouse visa extension?

I can’t answer that question but if any part of your ESA is income related and you are living with your wife then her savings of more than £16,000 means there’s no entitlement to ESA and you need to report the changes. Any overpayment will need to be repaid back.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
