Pip update

Just to let everyone know just spoke to pip there has been a glitch and everyone should be paid this afternoon

    There is an automated message on the pip line now saying they are aware of the issue and to call after 11.30 when they should have an update. 🤞

    Thanks for the updates! 
    I have been trying to get through to them since 9am and I either answered all their questions about my identity and then got hung up on, or their message was garbled, or got hung up on as soon as I pressed 6 on the keypad! 
    It’s a terrible feeling not having anywhere to be able to go to where you can receive important updates like this or be able to log into your PIP account to see if somethings wrong (until I discovered this site on Google that is!). Over the years, similar things and worse have happened and again, there was nowhere I could go to find out what was going on. 
    Soooo happy to have discovered this forum!

    Thankyou for update. I kept getting Hung up on this morning was in tears as I thought they had decided I wasn't entitled anymore or something as I'm waiting for my review to come back. Fingers crossed this afternoon.

    Yes, I too was terrified that they somehow decided I wasn’t eligible any more! It’s so sad that they are capable of just stopping our benefits without warning and keeping us teetering on a knife’s edge as to whether they change the goalposts and decide we’re not wither any more! I used to be on DLA and was awarded it indefinitely after many examinations and reviews. Then suddenly they announced it would become PIP and I had to go for reviews every year, even stopping it for 3 months when they said they sent me a questionnaire booklet that never arrived! I really hate being on benefits and always being scared that they will stop them one day.

    Yes same happened with me I was on dla indefinite. I'm having nightmares of being homeless with my little girl and things it's awful. I sent my review form back in may and still nothing.i wish the government would realise the impact it's having on people who genuinely can't work and having to live on the edge each payday. Fingers crossed for us all we can oneday have some kind of stability and guarantee that we won't end up with nothing one review. The system sucks xx

    It's an error or computer malfunction, in the same way as bank websites go down from time to time. By definition they can't give you an advance warning.

    Yes, I agree. 
    I just received a letter saying that they reviewed my “award” based on the form I submitted last time (before covid) and they decided that I would continue to receive my benefit for the next 5 years! That sounds great on the surface but I still have anxiety every month, wondering if something changed or went wrong and that somehow I wouldn’t receive my benefit for whatever reason. Today, when I wasn’t paid, I basically crapped myself! Even though they just told me that I wouldn’t need a review for 5 years! 
    I think they are so preoccupied with catching fake claimants, they just lose sight on how it makes genuine claimants feel. I’m sure someone will say that it’s necessary just so that they catch the con artists, I’m sure they lose a lot of money every year on dubious claims but the way the system is set up is just so impersonal. I think most people just don’t understand or even care how people like you and I feel! 2 of my direct debits are going back today because of this error. My rent and my water bill (and my credit card bill is meant to go through tomorrow). I will end up with bank charges and an earful and other problems from those who want money! I just get so depressed over all of this and I get a pit in my stomach every month on payday! 
    I’m so sorry you have been so badly affected by all this, I really feel for you and understand you completely.

    I think it's more that because we always feel a certain insecurity in our claim, when things like this do happen, the anxiety increases ten-fold because our immediate thought is "has my claim been stopped?"
