So what's everyone having?

What's going to be on your plate on Christmas day, I'd like to know trimmings and all.

Ps desserts too 🍰

I'll go first. I'll be home watching anything Christmas on TV and making a meal for one.

Turkey breast joint wrapped in bacon

Crispy roast potatoes

Sage and onion stuffing balls

Brussels sprouts loaded with bacon

Pigs in a blanket

All covered in gravy.

Dessert chocolate fudge cake with ambrosia chocolate custard.

And to drink after disaronno velvet on ice.

Going to leave this here for anyone to share their Xmas dinner 🧑‍🎄🌲

Pudding will be homemade cheese cake and another option but no idea what.

    Xmas Dinner will be
    Homemade soup
    Prawn cocktail
Melon balls (maybe) as atm it seems I'm the only one who likes them.

    Gammon joint
    Turkey crown
    Silverside
All the trimmings, stuffing, pigs in blankets etc.
    Vegertian dish for myself.

    Home made carrot cake
    Home made baileys cheesecake
Home made empire biscuits (grandson friendly)
    Ice cream (grandson friendly)
    Home made rum truffles
    Home made orange truffles.

Coffee, Irish coffee or tea accompanied  with after eight mints to finish or shortbread.

Christmas evening once   everyone are away home,  then hopefully  Mr Binky and myself  will raise a wee glass or two and enjoy the peace and quiet.

     That's if I'm not shattered.

Last year I was in my bed by 7pm as I could not keep my eyes open and Mr B enjoyed a few half's in peace and quiet watching his beloved F1 channel.

We are having turkey and ham for definite but we aren't so sure about the lamb yet and all the trimmings including homemade red cabbage, cream of spinach and mint Yorkshire puddings. As well as a chip shop curry source gravy. For pudding my mum thinks she might do a peanut butter and raspberry jelly cheesecake and a banoffee trifle.

I'm going to borrow Grinchy's table then sneak around to anyone that's having prawns on Christmas Day. Then having on Boxing Day (as my daughter-in-law is working Christmas Day) turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing wrapped up in bacon, roast pots & parsnips, Vichy carrots & broccoli together with smoked roast gammon & leeks in a white sauce topped with mashed pots, Yorkshire puds & gravy.
Ne'er a sprout in sight! Just drinking a couple of bottles of Schloer as my son is working the next day.

They all sound great 🤤🤤 I need to add parsnips forgot them. @SueHeath I enjoy Christmas so why not enjoy a dinner with it. Last few years I'd just get a takeaway so trying something different this year. And the champagne not a bad idea might add to my list of drinks 👌

Smoked salmon with radishes and homemade Melba toast to start.
Fillet steak with Bearnaise sauce and chips - nothing fancy, as I don't want to spend time in the kitchen.
Dessert will be a play on Nigella's Double Amaretto Semifreddo with Golden Gleaming Sauce.  My version is Triple Amaretto. I don't use her base recipe as the Semifreddo is too hard. I make it on Xmas Eve. It is so easy to make. I have been making it since Nigella's Italian cookery book came out in 2012 and Xmas just wouldn't be Xmas without it.

Our starter will be Bao buns filled with Teriyaki something or other. I used to make the starters but they are too much trouble on the day so these are supermarket ones. Then it will be turkey. I do everything all wrong and stuff both ends of the turkey. I have some cranberry and walnut stuffing for the big end (technical term) and sausage meat for the neck end. I usually add a little sage and/or thyme to the sausage meat. Ok, so I have to cook the turkey for a bit longer but it saves space, and both stuffings get covered in turkey juices, Mmmmmmm...., and dinner isn't until 2pm so plenty of time.  Then pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. My wife is in charge of the veg, so not sure of the details, but parsnips and sprouts from the allotment will feature because there have been several sharp frosts and they should taste great. Then Christmas pudding with custard for me, (I can't eat dairy) and cream, brandy butter for her. I think one of our sons will be here, but the other has car problems and can't come on the train, so not sure if he will be with us. Our daughter tends to come before Christmas as the grandkids like to have their presents at home.

Why do I read the food threads, I always end up drooling :D

We do a pick 'n' mix dinner, basically like a buffet with jacket potatoes, cold cuts, party food nibbles, that kind of thing Christmas Eve. Do a proper Turkey dinner on Christmas day and then have another pick of leftovers and bubble and squeak on Boxing Day :)

Yes! Bubble and squeak on Boxing Day, me too.
