Hey there @nakita30 and welcome to the community.

As far as I'm ESA is not stopped after six months. I know there were some errors with award letters being sent out with a six month deadline on them by mistake, could it have been that?

I'm just going to pop your discussion into the ESA category, so more people in the know will be able to find it. I hope that's ok. 😊

I believe OP might be referring to the proposed changes mentioned in the recently released Green Paper.

    Thanks for all you're responses

What is OP? Sorry I'm new to all this.... it's so worrying and still the goverment are leaving us unsure of our financial destiny 😢 i know i should keep calm but I'm finding it so unbearable

I have never been in debt in my life, always managed to struggle through but if i lose the ESA i am finished

I have worked all my life but in May 2024 i had an accident and after SSP i have found myself on PIP disability and ESA support group. The whole process was so stressful and time consuming. I have just over the threshold for UC so thats not an option. I am 63 years old and need my NI contributions for my pension. If i lose ESA i cannot afford to pay the future NI payments which will effect my pension for the rest of my life....

It's a worry for so many of us @nakita30 so we've created this discussion for everyone to talk about it and ask their questions - The Green Paper Discussion

We'd prefer to keep the conversations regarding this all in one place, so as to protect the mental health of all on the community, so we will be closing this discussion. I hope you understand.
