If moving out at some point and I don't get the same level of assistance can I still get PIP?

Hello,

I've read that you can still get PIP even if you don't get the help you need, if for most of the time you struggle with specific tasks.

E.g. I am with Mum who is helping me do a lot at the moment because I'm struggling, but if I hopefully move out when I'm back on my feet at some point, can I still get PIP even if Mum isn't prompting me or assisting on certain things?

I may still find difficulties with things most of the time/just over 50%, and I wouldn't be getting that to the same level of extent due to memory difficulties. But can I still get it?

Thanks.

    Yes.

If you can't do an activity reliably, repeatedly, safely and in a reasonable time frame for more than 51% of the time, then you are treated as unable to do the activity.

Being granted PIP doesn't depend on actually receiving assistance.

Ah okay so even if you don't actually get the prompting/help, if it would help you to have it, you can still get it? That is good to know.

Hi @Kimi87 so is it pretty much about if you fail the activites, not about if you actually get help? If you fail activities, that signifies that you would benefit from help, but you don't need to actually have the help to get PIP?

Yes that's right, if you fail at the activities then you qualify for PIP.
