Pip law changed 2016

Hi i asked pip to look at my first pip claim from 2018 and reconsider the points i was given after i got a letter saying about the social support law changes 2016 this letter said my claim wasnt affected but i decided to write to them and ask for reconsideration anyway because if 2 more points was given on descriptor 9 mixing with other people i would have got high rate daily living i sent all evidence from back then too, i today got a letter which i have uploaded i want to know why it has this years date on it? Does it mean they are looking at my claim from 2018 all the way to this year regarding this law change? As i only asked for a review of my first pip claim from 2018 so a bit confused??? Also should i send more evidence from my gp stating my diagnoses, medication and also a supporting letter from a family member who supports me? This evidence will be for now if that makes sense not the past? As my first pip claim i was given standard dl and no mobility my recent review last year i was given standar dl and standard mobility, can anyone help please x

Im just confused why it doesnt say we are looking at ur claim from 2018, and why it says this year on it all confusing im still goin to send extra evidence as it all helps just worried they are lookin at my pip award from last year an not 2018 like i stated x

Say if they review it and i get good news does this mean my whole claim will change from 2018-now or from 2018-2024 when my last pip award was reviewed?

That letter is for a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision they made this year.
We would need to know whether you put in a complete claim review & change of circumstances for the current award, or whether they are only reviewing the part about social support due to the law change.

No i never put in any change of circumstances or anything i had a review last year they gave me standard dl and standard mob, i only asked them to relook at my claim from 2018 for the 2016 law change, so i guess they must be reviewing the award from 2018 up to todays date?

The rule change was applied to reviews from 2020. So if you had a review last year, then you should be getting the correct amount of points now. That means they would be looking at the award from 2018 up to the review last year, unless you had any other reviews in between.

No i havent had any other reviews but the letter says this years daye which i am confused about as my last award was given last year when i had my review

I thought the letter would of said we are looking again at your claim from 2018-2024 as thats when i had my last review and award, but it says this year just confused me and my current claim is not bein reviewed until next year feb i think, also before i wrote to them iv also got a telephone call on the 10th from the performance measurement team this is totally seperate as this come before i even wrote them and not really sire what that is either

The reason it says this year is because that's when they made the most recent decision that you disagree with. It doesn't mean the date of the award.
The performance measurement call is totally separate. Claimants are picked at random and the phone call will just check whether you are getting the right benefits at the moment. They're doing this to see what percentage of people might not be getting the correct benefits.
This link tells you what to expect from the call.

Thanks for the advice, bit i didnt say i disagree with my current on going award i sent a letter to say i wanted my claim looked at again from 2018 when i only scored 2 points on the social support thing iv only ever had 2 pip claims 1 in 2018 i was given just standard daily living and a review i think last year where i was given standard on both, after getting the law change letter about social support i wrote to them asking for my claim to be looked at again from 2018 but it says on the recent letter this yeats date which im confused about

Sorry, I must have misread the post. I thought they had already made a new decision on the old award, and decided not to increase the points. And that you had then asked them for a reconsideration on that decision.
If this is the first response you've got from them regarding the old award then I don't know why they've put a recent date. It could just be an error. If you can call them, that's probably the best way to understand how they've come up with that date.

Hi just to update this post they said they are reviewing the claim from 2018 again and to see if i should have been given more points and the date on the letter was a mistake so just waiting for a decision now 👍
