Countries we have all visited or are hoping to go to 🏖️⛰️🌎✈️

My first holiday abroad was to Fethiye in Turkey in 2014, an absolutely beautiful part of the world on the Asian Continent. Back then I had the confidence to do a tandem Paraglide off a 6,500ft mountain called Babadağ, fair to say it’s left me wanting to go back again. In 2017 I travelled further afield and went to a place called Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, an absolutely stunning and tranquil place. In 2019 I went back again to Fethiye and stayed in Olu Deniz, another beautiful place down the road from Ovacik where we stayed in 2014. We took a ferry from Fethiye to Rhodes Old Town for a day trip, an absolutely stunning place. I must admit one little piece really took my breath away and made me place my head down for a minutes silence, it was a black marble memorial to the Holocaust Victims from Greece killed by the Nazi’s 😔
Next year I am travelling abroad to Boa Vista in Cape Verde, 🇨🇻 my first trip abroad on my own, fair to say I’m nervous about it, but Tui Access Team have been amazing in helping me organise help through the Airport, Liaise with the Hotel to organise a ground floor room in the Adults Only Section of the Hotel near to the Amenities, organise private taxi to and from the Airport and also aid me to be Ambulifted on and off the plane in Cape Verde. I know with a certainty, I’ll be staying in a Hotel the night before the flight out of Manchester, I will say this if your flying out of Manchester and stay over the night before, head to a pub called The Airport! I’ve been going since I was a child, the beer garden is open to the Taxi Way and Runway at the AirPort and is run by Robinson’s Brewery. I would say that the thing that irritates me, is the ludicrous cost that anyone with multiple medical conditions has to pay! We are almost priced out of being able to travel abroad. I must say, Costa Rica and Disney World are on my bucket list to travel to.

I don't have a passport, but tbh, I don't think it's right to jet all over the world. Not with what we now know about climate change.
Not meaning to be a wet blanket, but I really believe in what I said above.

I 100% get where your coming from, what makes me want to go abroad is it can cost as much to have a holiday in the uk. When you factor in if you use a car, a train, or ferry in the UK & Ireland, it would still be doing a lot of damage to the climate. A woman in Cornwall, needed to pick up a new car in Cheshire, but when she looked at the train prices she was shocked. It was cheaper for her and her husband to fly to Malaga from Newquay for the day, then fly to Manchester at night, stay in a hotel overnight and then drive the new car home to Cornwall. Than what it would have been to get the train up to Cheshire.

Oh yes, the train fares are shocking. If HMG were serious about tackling Pollution, they would do something about it. Same with the pathetic attempt to provide a bus service.
I have a go at my elderly parents for flying inside the UK, but I have no argument when they tell me the train is five times the price!

I can imagine when your parents say that to you, you take your foot out of your mouth 😂 When I go abroad next year, I’m getting a train up to Manchester staying overnight as it’s an early flight, when I land it’s a night time landing, so going to organise a taxi back, saves spending the night in a hotel and travelling back the next day. Just going to be fun, trying to get a 25KG Suitcase with a shower stool folded up inside of it down the stairs on a stairlift. I’m going abroad, because I deserve it after all the hell I’ve been through since 2020, just be nice to try and relax, not think about anything for two weeks and just enjoy some high quality Vit D. Going to take the kilt I’ve got, my Dr Martens and a Ghilly Shirt out there with me so I can at least have one meal dressed up rather than buffet fodder for one night.

Hi @Grumpy1314 I'm very envious of your paragliding experience. It's on my bucket list. Was it as amazing as I imagine it is?
Cape Verde sounds lovely but I can totally understand why you're nervous. I'm sure you'll thrive once you get out there!
I spent some time in Portugal earlier in the year (my best friend growing up now lives there) and it was lovely! I'd definitely recommend it. 😊

Thank you for your recommendation 💚
The Paragliding is an incredible experience, you cruise along at 60KPH and they ask if you want to do the acrobatics, where they drop one side and spin you around. They’ve now installed a cable car to the top of the mountain, you can even travel to the top and have a meal up there. Olu Deniz is a beautiful little place to visit, the quieter part of Fethiye for sure.

Wow! That sounds so cool. I'd definitely want to try the acrobatics! Thanks so much for sharing this 😊
