Hi, my name is billywhiz! Asked for bank statements after back pay, any advice?
IIt,s not my real name ,my concerns are about my bene fits ,ever since I first claimed pip I, have had to wait for decisions making appeals to tribunals a nd upper tribunals which means that because of the pandemic and illness I the benefits backpayments have accumulated as well as the benefits coming in ,I was not advised how to manage ,I was not advised about t he 52 week rule and an advice on benefits line has told me it's their fault and is an error and I am exempt I have received a housing benefit review form which is demanding my bank statements account details ?

Hi @billywhiz, welcome to the community. Had you told housing benefit about your back pay before they asked you for the bank statements? If they didn't know, it may be a coincidence that they sent a review through as lots of these are happening at the moment. If you're able to explain where your money has come from and that it is related to an error in your benefits, then as the benefits advisor says it should all be disregarded for now.
