Almost 200 Labour MPs have a majority smaller than the number of recipients of personal independent payments in their constituencies!! 🤗

I am starting to think that unless the changes affect you then nobody seems bothered by what happening. My Mp seems distant to me not wanting to comment

To me it seems very obvious what's happening with the MP's ….

Starmer rules with an iron rod and the MP's are scared to go against his mantra for the fear of been kicked out of the party and so jeopardising their £95,000 salary !

    Money talks.

    (Apologies if already shared)

I’ve just sourced this useful comment from the Benefits and Work webpage:

“Equal Lives (Norfolk, suffolk) are calling for comments on the govt proposals, which they will anonymise and send to all mps in the area.

    Email is communications@equallives.org.uk

Good to hear from you @Santosha12, and thank you for signing this petition . When you get a moment, do check out my recent posts on Scope’s main green paper thread on how we can each contribute to the consultation and add vital scrutiny before it closes in June.

@noonebelieves I will thank you. I've seen them but need to go back on and write the consultation email address down and sign some other petitions. I do hope you're recovering after your accident.

Thanks so much, @Santosha12, for checking in on me.
I’m slowly recovering-though the pain remains relentless. I had another fall recently, but thankfully no further injuries this time. My physio appointment at the GP surgery has been repeatedly postponed-they’ve cancelled it twice now, which is frustrating.
I really appreciate your help with raising concerns via the consultation email. The reason I keep encouraging each other is because, with all our health challenges and fatigue, it’s often more manageable to draft our input in sections, drawing on our personal experiences bit by bit. That’s exactly what I’m doing too.
Best wishes-and remember, we will get our voices heard. We may be unwell, but we are strong, resilient, and we won’t back down when our rights are under threat. This ruthless government needs to know we will not be downtrodden.
I hope you’re managing as well as possible, given the tough circumstances.

    In solidarity,Warmest wishes🤗

Thank you for your kind words, @Martinp. I truly appreciate it-though honestly, I don’t feel I deserve any compliments until our voices reach the very place they need to be heard.

I’m just so angry and heartbroken that our own government has not only drafted such a deceitful proposal, but has also gone to great lengths to silence and sideline disabled people -just to scrape together savings by cutting from those who need support the most. It’s beyond cruel.

That’s why I really believe this strategy of directly responding to the consultation by email, in the way I outlined on the Scope Green Paper thread yesterday, is so important. It adds a layer of scrutiny and makes it harder for them to ignore us or quietly push this through when it hits parliament.

I have real hope- because we’ve seen before how public pressure can stop these things in their tracks. And I truly believe that if enough of us speak up, we will be heard.

Our voices matter. They won’t silence us.

    In solidarity ✊

Its rather irritating and stressful to see petitions calling for stopping changes to UC and PIP, and completely forgetting the people who will be terribly affected by merging ESA with JSA to create a time limited unemployment insurance benefit.

I totally agree with you, @Catherine21.So many disabled people out there aren’t on forums like this - they’re isolated, overwhelmed, and have almost given up hope. That’s exactly why we’ve got to keep standing up -not just for ourselves, but for everyone who’s been pushed to the sidelines and made to feel like they don’t have a voice.

Let’s keep the momentum going to stand up against these benefit cuts….We’re doing well!

    Best wishes ✌️
