Good to hear from you @Santosha12, and thank you for signing this petition . When you get a moment, do check out my recent posts on Scope’s main green paper thread on how we can each contribute to the consultation and add vital scrutiny before it closes in June.
Disabled voices matter-we must not be silenced.

@noonebelieves I will thank you. I've seen them but need to go back on and write the consultation email address down and sign some other petitions. I do hope you're recovering after your accident.

Thanks so much, @Santosha12, for checking in on me.
I’m slowly recovering-though the pain remains relentless. I had another fall recently, but thankfully no further injuries this time. My physio appointment at the GP surgery has been repeatedly postponed-they’ve cancelled it twice now, which is frustrating.
I really appreciate your help with raising concerns via the consultation email. The reason I keep encouraging each other is because, with all our health challenges and fatigue, it’s often more manageable to draft our input in sections, drawing on our personal experiences bit by bit. That’s exactly what I’m doing too.
Best wishes-and remember, we will get our voices heard. We may be unwell, but we are strong, resilient, and we won’t back down when our rights are under threat. This ruthless government needs to know we will not be downtrodden.
I hope you’re managing as well as possible, given the tough circumstances.

Thanks, @Martinp. .
I hope you’re now feeling empowered to have your voice heard-disabled voices matter.

Thank you for your kind words, @Martinp. I truly appreciate it-though honestly, I don’t feel I deserve any compliments until our voices reach the very place they need to be heard.
I’m just so angry and heartbroken that our own government has not only drafted such a deceitful proposal, but has also gone to great lengths to silence and sideline disabled people -just to scrape together savings by cutting from those who need support the most. It’s beyond cruel.
That’s why I really believe this strategy of directly responding to the consultation by email, in the way I outlined on the Scope Green Paper thread yesterday, is so important. It adds a layer of scrutiny and makes it harder for them to ignore us or quietly push this through when it hits parliament.
I have real hope- because we’ve seen before how public pressure can stop these things in their tracks. And I truly believe that if enough of us speak up, we will be heard.
Our voices matter. They won’t silence us.

Its rather irritating and stressful to see petitions calling for stopping changes to UC and PIP, and completely forgetting the people who will be terribly affected by merging ESA with JSA to create a time limited unemployment insurance benefit.

Signed what surprises me is how many disabled people there is should be thousands of signatures maybe don't have access

Makes me laugh just before general elections read articles like cost of living money pension rises all these promises I'm so angry mines one area that won't be voting !! But let's see starmer trip over his own tounge promises the world

I totally agree with you, @Catherine21.So many disabled people out there aren’t on forums like this - they’re isolated, overwhelmed, and have almost given up hope. That’s exactly why we’ve got to keep standing up -not just for ourselves, but for everyone who’s been pushed to the sidelines and made to feel like they don’t have a voice.
Let’s keep the momentum going to stand up against these benefit cuts….We’re doing well!
Best wishes ✌️

I've been reading no legal challenges against pip and the government wouldn't listen to a court all looks like it's set in stone

Apologies if this idea has already been suggested but I've only just found this thread (thanks to Holly_Scope) and I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet.
My MP is new since the boundary changes last year. As far as I can tell she hasn't raised her voice against the proposed cuts and so-called reforms. I fear she won't, and won't be persuaded to. Nevertheless I want to contact her and give her no option but to look at the facts, as opposed to just getting a reply where she sings from the Green Paper hymn sheet.
Does anyone know if there's a document going around, or a webpage, that concisely breaks down and lists the ACTUAL impacts of the proposed cuts rather than the conveniently sanitized version most politicians seem to be reading? I would like to send it with a covering letter that talks about how the cuts will affect me and my situation. In fact, I'm going to try and get a face to face appointment with her at her surgery (assuming she even runs one occasionally). I'll present my letter and the list of facts to her after I've asked her what she intends to do about these acts of fiscal terrorism.
I'm also wondering if it's possible to do a FOI request for an estimate of the number of her constituents currently in receipt of PIP, as well as those on UC in the LCWRA group. I want to hear her defend her support for the cuts when confronted with figures that predict what the real local toll will be. (She's Labour, by the way.) Does anyone know if such a FOI request would be realistic?

@Catherine21
I hear your frustration, and I really feel it too -but please don’t lose hope. The very reason this government is trying to silence and sideline us is because they know how powerful our voices are. That’s exactly why we must keep speaking up.I’ve stopped trusting any narrative that says there’s no hope- because that’s exactly what they want us to believe. We do have power, and now more than ever, we need to use it to stand up for our rights and push back against these cruel benefit cuts by the end of June .
Our voices matter
