Thank you Charlie for sharing the link as there was a lot more Benefits and Work did include in the full writeup. I think it was important for them to get the main points out in a succinct way and as quickly as possible given how fast this whole matter is moving. I agree though, that as hard as it is to see right now, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel. I am just so concerned right now I cannot see the light yet 😊

IIt's because he's brought in primary legislation
1 -
Yes, primary legislation makes it harder to challenge things legally before they are passed, but it does not make them unstoppable. Even with primary legislation, there is still the potential for changes to be influenced or amended before becoming law, especially if there is enough public and political pressure.
That is why pushing back now is crucial. If we make MPs realise that supporting these proposals could cost them votes, particularly in marginal seats, they will be forced to confront the risk of losing their jobs and salaries. MPs who face that threat will fight tooth and nail to protect their future, so there is a powerful opportunity to force changes or delays.
The legal route may be limited for now, but the political route is wide open, and we must seize it while we can.

hi Catherine,
Thank you for that . This is what I thought . If it’s shown to discriminate against us the courts can intervene or have I read that wrong? The fact that they haven’t even had a proper consultation or waited for the OBR assessment must be against our rights .

the consultation isn’t fully open to us though . Only certain questions. Similar to the Tory paper which they lost in court

They’ve waited 14 years and with starmer their jobs are finished. They must be thinking that . It’s the fact they’re rushing this through before a proper assessment of how many people will be affected and only part of the consultation being open to us against our rights ?

I hope this finishes him . He really is the worst PM we’ve had .

I posted this yesterday Charlie.

I’ve emailed Jeremy Corbyn again to ask about the legality of all this . I noticed a demonstration outside my town hall last week against Emily Thornberry who seems to be for the cuts. A shame as she’s helped me in the past

Who ever thought I would be happy that I don't get additional pip money 🤦
I'm on cbesa and lcwra so I should be reassessed through the normal wca until it's abolishment in 2028 as it's only new and existing claimants of pip that are affected after November 2026
.... And I'm actually happy about that , that's how bad things are 🥺
I know when the the wca and lcwra get abolished in 2028 and then the new pip criteria takes over for the rest of us I'll probably loose everything .... Suppose I'll just have to deal with it then ....
I still can't get my head round that they are actually going to get away with this .... I'm struggling so bad , finding it very hard to find reasons to go on if I'm honest

I will lose everything around April 2027 so not long left for me now

I hope not Martin . I’m feeling very disheartened right now too . But I felt the same when PIP came in . It was a terrible time but I got through it and we can get through this . How can they leave a million people to starve ?

@martinp @secretsquirrel
I thought me you and Martin were in the same boat on that score , thought we got lcwra but no pip

My gp said the dwp issued them new guidance not to provide letters of support anymore as they will not take it into account as evidence.

Hello Danny, IR ESA, severe disability element and pip. I will lose around £10,000 a year. No way I will be able to afford rent, so will be homeless. Just can’t see a way forward other than the obvious, that doesn’t scare me, in a way I will welcome it, no more pain or worry. I wouldn’t be able to survive on the streets, can’t walk more than a couple of metres even with a frame so I’m done for.

Hi Catherine,
It’s been a bad day but I just watched kernowdamo on YouTube and a resignation from a labour councillor that lifted my spirits. Hope you’re doing ok , sending you love .

My GP has just done me a letter, who knows if they will take notice of it though
