Work and pip

I am on pip due to rheumatoid arthritis. Can I do permitted work? I am a trained counsellor

    PIP isn't an out of work benefit; so you are free to work if you want. However, why you claim can't contradict your job.

    If you're on ESA, you can do permitted work.

    As above, PIP is for help with extra costs caused by being disabled and it completely separate from work. Except if you say tell PIP people you can't stand and you are working stood up all day with ease etc.

    Hi allypally,

    Just to confirm the above advice, permitted work is work you can do whilst claiming ESA. There is no limitation as to the work you can do whilst claiming PIP only, but like the others have said, if you are able to do some work because your condition has improved then you should tell the DWP so they can reassess your entitlement to PIP.
