I don’t know how they plan to get us to work. I have fibromyalgia and ME among other conditions. I’m constantly in bed resting. Any exertion and I get PEM . I couldn’t even sit at a desk at home and sleep on and off throughout the day . How’s streeting going to get the NHS to cure me so I can work when there is no cure ? I can’t understand how this will be legal .

Raynor - the 4th most beautiful woman in the country ?
After these cuts proposals, the blind won't be voting for her again ! 😆

the funniest was the pic they posted of her in the article shows her in a pub drinking a pint of lager 😂
I actually watched her a bbc interview being interviewed by a disabled woman. This was pre election I think. She spoke very well and seemed empathetic towards the disabled. But of course it was the old IF you can work and looking after those that CANT . Though lose a 4 point descriptor and you’re no longer disabled, all cured .

Hi Catherine, I’m ok thanks, how are you? a lot of respect to you for emailing mps etc, when I’ve emailed my mp in the past for help i was ignored which disappoints me and makes me more angry so don’t bother now for my own sanity, I wish I knew what side she was on with these cuts

Unfortunately, the UK government has sunk to such a level that even it is better than the Conservatives and the Labour Party.

No, it isn't. It's absolutely clear what Reform's policies are, and none of them are beneficial to disabled people. They will absolutely be worse to us than the Tories or Labour. It's just that grim a field.
As an autistic person, what is going on in the US at the moment terrifies me. The fact Farage is now jumping on the bandwagon just makes that worse.
What is going on across the atlantic is an existential threat to people on the spectrum. The last thing we need is it spreading over here.As for the overall fight, the biggest problem we all have is that disability content is not interesting to the 'rest of the world'. It drops off news pages quickly, most people are like, 'not my problem' and move on. Changing that narrative is very hard because the vast majority of able bodied people lack the ability to empathise with disabled people. It's just outside of their scope of understanding, so they judge what they see, not what a person's lived experience may actually be. That makes the fight much harder. If it were in the press every day, there would be more action. But it isn't. And so here we are.
Equality so rarely includes us.6 -

She would be battling for second place as far as i'm concerned. She'll just have to fight it out with Martine Croxall!

I check everyday looking for some hope but I start to think it's time to accept things are not going to change Does anyone know of dates of discussion or anything that we can focus on as a positive

The way i see it is that it will get voted on and passed but hopefully gets watered down….
Ideally we could do with seeing the economy nose dive which in turn will effect the GDP figures and inflation rates, when that happens the blame lays solely at the door of the chancellor (Reeves) …..
The above will put pressure on Starmer from within the party to get shut of her and when that happens it's not long after that the PM is advised to step down as pressure mounts within the party ….
A new PM could possibly scrap the whole process of reforming the benefits system because with a clear head they can see what damage it has and is causing the Labour party.
And let's not forget the local elections especially the Runcorn by election which could send shock waves through the Labour party ….
Runcorn is a Labour strong hold but come May 1st that is set to change !

Does anyone know if emailing my local Mayor would do any good ? The current one is Labour so I am not sure If I would be just wasting the little bit of brain power I have left 😁We are voting for for a Mayor in the local elections, as mentioned before, I defaced and returned my voting slips 😂 I guess I could tell her that lol. This Mayor has been re elected several times and I guess is well thought of, I live in a mega Labour stronghold, I cant see that ever changing but folk are starting to see that she only has one main objective and it is not related to health or welfare.

DWP could be forced to 'stop' plans for benefits cuts after damning Amnesty International UK report.
A damning Amnesty has found the Department for Work and Pensions benefits system is "cruel", "ruining lives" and " violating human rights". Amnesty International UK is urging the Labour Party government to stop its plans for benefit cuts.
