Thanks so much @noonebelieves and for your reply to my post last week. I've been in a spiral since (it has been another bad news week for us, hasn't it?!) and kind of lost the will to act. But I will recover and move forward with my plan to tackle my MP! 🙏

Do you believe that an evil clown is really evil, and a good clown is really good? I find it very strange that adults react to the words of politicians, even if it is the true truth.
If Farage won the election instead of Starmer now, then he conducted exactly the same policy as now - the script was written for him long ago, the mask of the clown performing it is not important.2 -

I watched her interview on Ben claimant YouTube so I can’t remember if it were there I I heard someone else say it . But I’m sure it was something alluding to taking legal advice but not putting their cards out there . I know she said they want individuals to come forward so they can take their case to court. She also spoke of how hard labour fought to keep the Tory green paper.

Hi @jasminehoop , thanks so much for your really kind compliment. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been on a “downward spiral,” but it’s uplifting to see you motivated to move forward and take on your MP. Honestly, I’ve felt a bit like you — more in shock when I read the B&W “No Silver Bullet” news — but it’s made me fiercer than ever, and I’m targeting my MP from every direction.
He’s holding a public surgery at our local library in two weeks, and I’m planning to attend, physical inconvenience or not. I’ve also sent my personal impact stories to my three ward councillors, Angela Rayner, Lucy Powell, and several other Lords, Baronesses, and MPs who oppose the cuts, using the Write to Them free service.
On top of that, I contacted all the relevant All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) — condition specific groups, health, human rights, children’s APPGs (as I have children), and more. I’m also in touch with several DPOs and have shared my personal impact stories with them too.
As I mentioned to you before, I’ve sent a strong email directly to the Green Paper consultation inbox, setting out exactly why I oppose the benefit cuts, with a detailed breakdown of how devastating the impacts would be on me and my family.
I’m on my local BBC’s waiting list to anonymously share my story, though I’m considering pulling out. They said they’ll be in touch once a reporter is available.
But my main focus has always been my MP. He stopped responding when I asked him personal questions and even after I shared the unique and devastating impacts these changes would have on me. Since he’s one of those media-focused Labour MPs who proudly posts photos of his “achievements” (no different from Starmer and the rest), I started following and directly challenging him on social media too — still no response. It’s the same silencing strategy we’ve seen from the government, but I’m not giving up.
The best way we can add real scrutiny is by sharing our personal impact stories with MPs, organisations(DPO’s and the lot), and parliamentary officials. “Never stop until June” is my motto😊. Our voices can create serious pressure on these brutal proposals, and it’s clear that many MPs who aren’t responding are more worried about their six-figure salaries and lavish lifestyles than about the rights of disabled people.
So let’s keep ramping up the pressure and stand strong together. Our collective voices have incredible power.

Your post really resonated with me, especially the part where you said that you would be too disabled to put the tent up. I will be honest and say that I welled up when I read that. 😢 I know that is going to remain with me.
That was followed by being so angry that the government would be prepared to do that to any person, never mind a disabled one. Plus to such huge numbers!! 😱 They must be stopped!! Somehow. 😳
Whatever we do we must not let the pressure up on them even if they get these vile proposals through.
There will be a reckoning for them though. I do believe that what comes around goes around, especially for doing something that is so morally repugnant and dangerous. 😡
You were also on your own and seem to have nobody to turn to either. It must seem like a wall of despair to you, which is very hard to endure without someone there to support you.
My partner and I are going to have our own loses to deal with. Although we will lose a lot of money, we will still be able to pay the rent, eat and pay the bills. We will have very little money left over for the costs of our disability though.
My partner is state pension age though and will be able to apply for Attendance Allowance in place of his PIP standard daily living, as the eligibility for it is much less challenging than PIP will be then.
I will lose my Carer's Allowance for him but I will only be about 4 years away from state pension age, when he is reviewed in 2028.
The money that we will lose while I'm still working age will be more than made up when I go onto state pension by being able to claim housing benefit and Severe Disability Premium, neither of which you can have under UC.
I have both components of PIP enhanced and UC LCWRA with two questions where I get four points but unfortunately, that is not going to protect us from what is going to happen to my partner. 😔
The point I want to make is that we are going to lose thousands a year for a while but there is light at the end of the tunnel for us. As bad as it is, it is nothing on what you and so many other disabled people are going to have to go through, including many on this community.
You are all going to lose EVERYTHING, with the majority of you being nowhere near state pension age. It breaks my heart 💔 it really does. I cannot imagine what you and so many others must be going through.
I hope that we can stay in touch but that is up to you. I'm here though if you do want someone to talk to. 😊

ohhhh I see 😂. I came in part way through a chat and wondered who it was . I think it would be helpful maybe if a list of the MPs voting for the cuts was compiled and put on social media. I know mine , Jeremy Corbyn, will vote against. They need naming and shaming so they can be boycotted in future elections. They keep telling us there are a couple of million disabled people well that’s a lot of votes to lose . Same with Tory’s and reform. They should all know they’ll lose our vote regardless as to who we’d actually vote for anyway .

My sister is a "paid" carer for a number of young disabled people - working for a care company - she often is called on to spend a night sleeping in at their homes.
Some live in care homes - some live in their own homes - but many are under the age of 22 - NONE of them will EVER work due to severe disabilities. Such as intellectual and developmental problems - a lot more than "just" mobility problems……
What will happen to them - if PIP is stopped ?
And what about my sisters job - she relies on being paid (minimum pay) from PIP from these individuals.
