Private pension

Hi, everyone.
Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend.
I have a right to inherit money from my late husband’s private pension.
I moved in to UK 12 years ago and I was his full time carer. Therefore I haven’t contributed enough to claim state pension.
I am depending on UC and PIP due to PTSD plus some mental health issues since my husband’s death.
I don’t own any property or asset and I will need pension to survive when I get older. I am thinking to use the inheritance money to buy private pension for myself.
I wonder if DWP would consider it as saving and it would affect UC.
It would be helpful if I can get an advice from a specialist; pension advisor etc. Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get advice from?

You can look for a trained benefits advisor to advise you on the UC aspect:
