Disabled aids

I have real problem washing my hair because of my joint pain and stiffness in my shoulders and upper arm ,is there anything that could help. ? . Would also a seat across the bath, are they any good ? Where do I get them from?

I’m really sorry to hear about the difficulties you’re experiencing. While I don’t have joint pain, I do have neurogenic pain and dexterity issues due to long-standing ulnar neuropathy in both hands, which makes tasks like washing my hair quite challenging. As I also have neuropathy symptoms , I feel unsafe standing in the bath .
To help with this, I use a standard NRS bath board (provided by my OT) and an ETAC long handle hair /Scalp washer brush, which I purchased from an essential aids catalogue recommended by my OT. The brush reduces the need to apply soap directly with my hands and minimizes strain on my shoulders, elbows, and hands. I’ve found that using both these aids , whether over the sink or in the bath has given me a bit more independence with hair washing.
I hope this might be helpful for you too. You may be able to find similar products with a quick Google search. Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps.

I got all sorts of useful things from my LA - After I had a care needs assessment from my LA / NHS
Such as an electrically adjustable bed - grab rails on the stairs / gran handles in the bathroom and bedroom - Bed rails - Slip sheets (to allow me to move in bed) - bath seat - with more offered !!
