LCWRA & PIP

Hi, my daughter was awarded enhanced PIP in June 2024 and informed her UC work coach of her change in circumstances: at the time she was in the LCW category. A few weeks ago, her new work coach was 'surprised' that she had not been reassessed as she would more than probably qualify for LWCRA. How do we make a claim for back payment as surely the assessment should have been initiated by the DWP once they had been informed of her change of circumstances last year?
Any help or advice would be so appreciated.

Unfortunately PIP awards have no bearing on the Work Capability Assessment process for UC.
A person is only eligible for backpay when going from LCW to LCWRA, if they reported a change in health to UC via Journal and submitted continuous Fit Notes. This triggers the re assessment process.

A backdated Fit Note probably wouldn't be accepted, unless you asked them to accept it via formal complaint, arguing an error in procedure their end

I'd also recommend speaking to a trained benefits advisor
Without continous Fit Notes any LCWRA decision would only backdate to the Assessment Period in which it's made, so not eligible for backpay.
