Hi @Ellie18 sometimes it can take a while for the people in the know to see your discussions, I do apologise.
I've just had a look and found this; a college-aged child working can affect your Universal Credit payments, particularly if they are still considered a dependent. If your child is in eligible education or training, you can continue to receive the child element of UC until the 31st of August after their 19th birthday. However, if your child leaves education or training, or if they turn 16 and are no longer in eligible education, the child element of UC will likely stop, and your payments will decrease. Additionally, their income from work may also impact your UC payments, especially if they are earning a significant amount.0 -
she is 16 and is due to leave for college in September so will this effect my child element and u c ? Sorry for all the questions

Hi @Ellie18 - I don't think Albus is quite right with part of his info here.
Your child is still a 'qualifying young person' for you to be able to claim the child element of UC. Any work she does does not affect your claim. Your daughter is still considered to be in full time education between leaving school & starting college.

This applies now & until the 31st Aug following her 19th birthday so long as she remains in full time education.
