Experience of Tizanidine vs Baclofen
Background:
When i was a child i used to take delicious sugary like raspberry but no raspberries in it bacolfen.
Transitioned to boring tablets and then off everything but recently increasing stiffness.
Did a brief search and obviously increasing physical activity is a must (got appointment next week), but does any have any thoughts on Tizanide?
I am aware the evidence for Baclofen is hardly incredible.

Hi @lingo7728,
Baclofen and Tizanidine are muscle relaxants, they are similar but work in slightly different ways. Your doctor may prescribe one over the other due to the side effects.
I have tried Tizanidine but the side effects were worse than baclofen. Every one reacts differently.
At the moment, I am on liquid baclofen as I find it easier to slightly adjust the dosage if needed.

@lingo7728 yeah life's treating me fair enough I suppose, but we all just have get on with it don't we? Soldiering on as I say. I believe that medicine something beginning with b causes a range of things I.e headaches drowsiness, feeling sick or being sick etc I'd suggest go to the NHS website to see what it says. Fortunately for me I was never given like that when I was a kid but i recommend you have a look on the NHS website I'm sure that'll tell you. I'm glad your OK! @pooleemily29

Hi @lingo7728,
Tizanidine made me feel more drowsy. It also gave me a dry mouth so my gums bled daily.
Everyone is different, and some people may not experience any side effects at all.

Interesting, ill be mindful of gums bleeding I've had gingitivitis previously.
Drowsiness would be a blessing sometimes with insomnia.

Hello, I am on baclofen and have recently started. I started low and am due to increase dose - just a bit worried as I seem to be the queen of side effects! So far no side effects however -but I am assuming as dosage increases that could change? I don;t know anyone else on muscle relaxants so saw this and wanted to ask about side effects, hope it's ok to jump in.
