Eurovision Song Contest 2025

Is anyone else watching the Eurovision final on Saturday?
I watched the first semi-final last night, and the other semi-final is on Thursday as there are so many countries who enter.
I was really sad to see Slovenia's entry didn't get through to the grand final on Saturday, it was very inspiring and emotional. I liked Norway's entry too and they got through so that's good.
I thought this would be a good thread to talk about all things Eurovision 2025! ๐

I religiously watch it every year and have done so since I was a teen. I never watch the semi finals though only the finals. I just like to hear all the songs once at the finals and try think who will win and keep it a surprise. I also never normally have the tv on but I will defo for this.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen any of the acts for this year. Shocking I know! But I'll watch bits of the finals, it's always good fun. ๐

Awful program

Thatโs fun! I used to do the same but I find so many songs I like never make it through to the final so I watch both semis now.

Haha thatโs okay, most people are the same. Iโm just an Eurovision fanatic! ๐คฃ

Each to their own, entitled to your opinion. ๐

I loved it when the lovely Terry Wogan hosted it but don't think I've watched it since. I might give it a go this week ๐

Terry Wogan was amazing, Graham Norton is a good second place. Give it a go, always a bit of fun. ๐

Oh I didn't even know Graham Norton comperes it, I will definitely watch it now thanks! I know that I like his humour I'm glad you've replied letting me know, wondering how long GN's been doing that. ๐๐

Haha no worries. He does the final and Scott Mills and Rylan do the semis.
Iโm not sure but GN might have done it since Terry sadly passed away.

The weirder, the camper the better.
Am intrigued to see now well Israel do, it is so sad that she has to have been coached to deal with death threats and hecklers.
As if every Israeli is complict in what bibi does. And even if she was f death threats.
UK shouldve won with Sam Ryder.

He really was one of the good ones. I was a TOG (wasn't that old though). I wrote to him in the 80s about his interview with Larry Hagman? 'JR' and he wrote a lovely letter back and signed photo, I didn't expect a reply. A thoroughly decent human being and missed! I'll watch it and raise a glass to him when it's on.

Anyone tuning in for the second semi-final tonight? We'll get the first glimpse of the UK's staging and what their performance might look like on Saturday. (We get through automatically because we're one of the 'big five').

I am a huuuge Eurovision fan and have been for a long time. Unfortunately I'm busy this year when it's on so it's a rare year where I'm missing out. But I hope to catch up on it afterwards or when I get home if it's still on.
Did anyone manage to catch the semi-finals? Any acts sticking out for you as possible winners?

I hope you might manage to get back home in time to see who wins! ๐

Eurovision is a bit like Marmite either you love it or hate it. I tend to watch some then have a break and go back to it.

Haven't watched Eurovision in years, I think the only exceptions were the ones in 2014 and 2016 which were "political charged" due to a certain war. Plus, haven't watched much TV since then.

I've watched them both. I FF through the first one and just watched the songs unless they were truly terrible.
I have a feeling Sweden will do well with their catchy song, as well as Iceland. I thought there were better songs in the first semi than the second.
UK will probably get few points or nil point.0 -
I liked the first semi-final but the second one had barely any songs I like.

I hate it when they do voting like this because some from the first semi deserved to go through more than some of those going through on the second. But I try not to get too bothered about it as it all comes down to political voting anyway.
