None payment again

Hi guys I'm new here, so hello.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight to my predicament.

A fortnight ago my esa didn't go i didn't notice as hadn't checked found out when direct debits failed. Spent 1hr 30mins on phone to dwp, they didn't know why sent and emergency payment. Messed me right up with payments and had to pay bills late. Luckily I check today not paid again, phoned again (only took 15 mins this time thank God.) Again said don't know why we'll look into it.

Over the years I have nothing but harassment and problems with dwp albeit not since covid. Is there a black list or something or is it just them adding fuel to my multiple mental health issues to throw me off the edge again like in the past?

    Hi @Phild sorry you've not had a reply until now. I've not heard of this before and it sounds really frustrating, especially with having to keep calling after failed promises. I wonder if there's a system issue with your account maybe that's causing issues. Have things improved since?

    Hi Holly thanks for reply.

    No only change is i have to phone 8am every other Tuesday to get payment manually so don't have to spend 2 hours on Thursdays phoning. The have made numerous promises now, but still not sorted, been told 3 times it's sorted, then it's been escalated but no-one has looked at it yet as they have a backlog.

    Frustration is an understatement to say the least.

    Yes I did Kimi, and also on the 4th occasion of none payment as said again about a formal complaint they said one has already been raised, no need to raise another it could slow procedure down, even though its not even been looked at yet.

    They did try to blaim me on one call, saying it's my fault because I hadn't put any sicknotes in. I explained was signed off indefinitely by GP and so I didn't have to. Then it was a migration issue on they're systems and that she fixed it. Which she hadn't same happened again 2 weeks later.

    Beat me to it @Kimi87, I was going to suggest that too 🙂

    That is ridiculous you're having to call them so often about this. I really hope you can get this resolved. It sounds like it might be a long and frustrating process which you shouldn't have to deal with, but will be much better for you when it's all sorted.

    If you're happy to keep us updated with it, I'd like to know how it's going, and how it ends.

    Will do but don't hold your breath, I have no confidence in them, I'll prob get my pension before it's sorted

    Udate.

    Phoned esa yet again (going on over 3 months now) 8.05am(1hr24mins)Tue to see if getting paid thurs, told not going through will do manual payment as usual.

    Thursday comes no money went in. Phoned again this morning 8am on the dot still took 50mins, told don't why didn't go through we'll do it again. Did explain that my A/c had been completely rebuilt as was corrupted and should be fixed so shouldn't need to phone every week. I've no confidence in that so just wait and see. Hopefully moneys goes into day as not a penny to my name as bills gone out making me overdrawn and bank charges reduces my money yet again. just have to borrow money again to get some food in. Worst case will have wait till Monday to phone again if doesn't go in.

    Have you tried contacting your MP? Especially as you've not had a response to your DWP complaint.

    No Kimi, i havent only because I'm currently not the best with my mental health, had all my meds increased and been on suicide watch at the moment and struggling to do anything

    Hi, sorry I have no practical advice but I wanted to say this happened to me 10 years ago and I still have no real answers as to why. At one point, I called to ask them to make the payment and the advisor was rude to me and said I should ask my bank why it wasn't in. I explained I was in a hospital bed with a kidney infection and couldn't access the Internet or go into the bank. I was in tears as my partner had called to say he couldn't top up the electric and I felt like it was my fault for being so unwell. Every week I would have to call for them to release the payment. I went back to work doing a job I wasn't really well enough to do, to avoid the stress. Ran myself into the ground but absolutely refused at the time to claim ESA and so my partner got income support and carers allowance until I braved an ESA claim. We never had that problem again. I asked my friend who works for DWP why it might happen and they said it's because the legacy system can only hold so much data per record. I'd had a lot of changes due to my partner's work and having to report different earnings each month. I'd essentially used up all the memory on my record so they had to manually put every payment through as the system couldn't hold a schedule. I'm not sure that's 100% true but I know from an old job that the legacy system is outdated. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in this happening and I totally understand how stressful it is. I was told that once it's happened, they have to push every payment through for that claim indefinitely. Sorry it's not good news.

    I've just seen your comment about rebuilding your claim - that's what I was told as well. It would either have to be rebuilt on the system or would sort itself out once I claimed again which it did.

    Finally got paid after another 2hr6min call on Friday as they were closing literally got cut off as he was telling me he'd sort it out after we were cut off and he did.

    @social_moth thanks for the insight helpful to know it's not just me

    @Kimi87 I emailed MP they wound me up sufficiently enough to kick my ADHD in to gear
