DWP help to claim or not?

We've to fill out the form by early June, and used the citizens advice help to claim phone thingy to do a "before you start" situation, so they know who we are, how much we're currently getting from ESA etc etc. and so they can check the claim is all good when it's all done and dusted.
I just received a text from the DWP saying they will call in the next few days to help make the claim BUT am I better off sticking with the citizens advice while doing the claim (the day after we get paid the ESA so we don't lose money, as they suggested), or should I let the DWP do it, and if so, with it being almost at the deadline, would this have to be a "phone claim" or would they be open to doing it face to face at the JC+ even at the last minute?
Plus, is it a good idea for them to do it at all, is it better to steer well clear?
I don't want it to be a phone claim as this will inevitably lead to phone hell in the future, online is better.
Thoughts, good people? Thank you all.

never do a phone claim. write it all down on a piece of paper first. then you can photo the pages and keep them safe. you need a copy for reference. then if you need to fill another one in you can repeat the same answers
you also need a copy for the phone assessment. then you can repeat the answerrs. beware they rephrase the questions. and you can fall into a trap
always repeat the question ie. if it says (i can't remember the questions now lol) getting dressed yourself. i cannot dress myself because I have a back problem which causes immobility. I need a friend to choose the clothes, help me get dressed as I can only lift my feet up a tiny bit to put my trousers on.
CAn you do your own medicaton. I cannot do my own medication because I get confused and forget to take them. therefore I need help to take them
I think you know what i mean. My neighbour taught me that! so get the citizens advice to help you with a paper claim. it's safer and they can't mislead you or misunderstand you

With respect, the above reply refers to a PIP assessment, not a UC claim.
I would advise sticking with the CAB help to claim service. Having the online journal is much better than a phone claim as you say. And the CAB already have your info and can continue to help if anything goes wrong during the migration.
