Moving out of parents house as a UC claimant

hello,
I’m new on here and unsure as to how any of this works so I’d really appreciate some help if anyone has the time to explain it to me. I’m currently living as a single person with my parents claiming universal credit under limited capacity for work. I’ll be getting married in October and moving out with my partner before then but I’m not sure how to do this. Whether I would need to report the decision to move beforehand so that I’d be able to pay deposit and first rent or whether I have to find a property beforehand, move and then report the change (is this what they call social housing?). As you can see, I’m very new to this and any guidance in this area would be greatly appreciated.

UC can't deal with future changes so you'll need to report the changes as they happen.
Once you are in your new home you report your new address and rent amount.
And once living with your partner report you are no longer single but in a relationship.
Any entitlement to UC will then be on your joint circumstances as a couple.
The claims of you and your partner need to be linked together, if your partner doesn't claim UC already they will need to start a new one.
If renting privately UC Housing Element matches the local LHA rate:

thank you kimi87. I’m not sure how one even finds a rental while on UC but I appreciate the advice nonetheless

You can try your local council who might have a list of benefit friendly landlords, and try
where you communicate directly with landlords bypassing letting agents.
