I emailed Farage as I think if he realises it’s a vote winner he may change track and show us just a little support. If he did Starmer would probably do the same . Plus I think we need to start fighting Farage nice , in a nice way, as if things go the way they are he could be our PM in 4 years time. We can’t go through this every new parliament 😩

Well @egister
That is an interesting theory. 😳 It certainly gives me food for thought. 🤔
I personally think that there's a lot of bullying in this country because of the class system, which causes great inequality. We are one of the most unequal countries in the world.
It is, of course, one of the main reasons why the Labour leadership is treating us so appallingly now, as the majority of benefit claiments are working class.
One of their excuses for becoming so right wing is that they no longer represent the working class, only working people.

Thank you Holly! 😀

I think we ended up with Timms for a reason 😩

We often read some people misleadingly claiming that "PIP is not an out-of-work benefit, most of PIP claimants are in work, people need PIP to work", etc., indirectly suggesting that the government should rather target claimants of out-of-work benefits (LCWRA) and leave PIP claimants in peace.
Let me remind such people that PIP is not an in-work benefit, and according to DWP data, the vast majority of PIP claimants are NOT in work. "Only around one-sixth of PIP recipients are employed, and this figure has been fairly stable for many years."
Nowhere does it say that PIP is for people in work, or is to help people go to work, or stay in work. According to the DWP, "Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is money for people who have extra care needs or mobility needs (difficulty getting around) as a result of a disability."
To me, it's rather PIP that they should not cut but means-test it, by setting a reasonable threshold of income. Why should a high income person receive PIP!
To me, the same goes to the WFA. It should be means-tested too. Why should a pensioner with a comfortable pension receive WFA and not a single mother/father on benefits, or people on sickness/disability benefits, or those who are on Jobseekers Allowance, or even those who are working on the minimum wage as their income is much lower than many pensioners who used to claim the WFA!
Sure, the welfare system in this country is broken. But fixing it shouldn't mean cutting benefits to the most vulnerable and poorest ones straightaway.

You're right. 😳 I think in the scheme of things that no one is likely to think anything of it. It's near enough to the correct name so anyone who notices it will know who the author is anyway.
I love that mental picture of Liz being smirked at by the rest of the cabinet because of your cartoon! 😂
I wonder just how much of the cabinet see her for what she really is. 🤔 Quite a few I would have thought!
I do hope that Little Miss Loathsome gets a huge portion of just desserts. 🍰 She really does deserve it, the sooner the better! 😆

I agree with you. I don’t want to offend anyone by not explaining this correctly and I’m not trying to say people who work shouldn’t be able to get pip but if I lose pip / lcwra I don’t have the opportunity to work to survive as I simply am not physically able to . But it seems we have have a system where people that cannot work could lose pip and lcwra while some people can work and claim pip and lcwra too . Plus the increase for uc basic . So the people who can’t work could end up losing the most money. As I said I’m not against people getting pip and working but I have to fight for pip each time as the assessors are so brutal, I don’t know how people pass the assessment if they work .

People used to talk about class envy. Now we have benefits envy.
I think my first post on these forums was to do with my absolute terror of PIP being means-tested.
I'm not rich. I inherited some capital that took me some way over the £16K limit for means-tested benefits, free prescriptions, dental care, etc, to which I'd previously been eligible.
I lost all income-related help and pay a small amount of income tax.
I live alone without family support on PIP, Support-Group CB-ESA ( that is set to be abolished), and falling interest from savings. I've been disabled most of my life. There's no private pension coming up. I exist on a minute sum. If PIP were means-tested I couldn't survive for long until I became eligible for means-tested benefits all over again.
PIP has nothing to do with employment status or wealth. Similarly, DLA is paid to wealthy parents of disabled children, and AA to people who develop disabilities in retirement. No to means-testing!

I think we should have the right to have savings. Obviously it’s different if a persons rich . But why shouldn’t we be able to save for a rainy day or to save up for a new kitchen etc like everyone else . When you rely on pip / lcwra you literally have no security. I’m also on my own so if I lose pip I have nothing.

I know. Their gaslighting wore thin quite a while ago.
I don't think that they thought that they would have to keep repeating all those lies for so long as they must have just expected us to just roll over and accept our fate.
Not this time, because now we are having to fight for our survival. ✊
They must really have to work at their speeches now as they must be so aware of how much the people who are forced to sit through them must be able to see through every word they're saying. 🤭
I can imagine Loathesome Liz losing it big time behind the scenes, about all this. She should be the one losing her head together with Starmer, Reeves and Timms for treason against Disabled British People. 🇬🇧

But what's "rich"? When I claimed means-tested benefits I couldn't save for big items. There wasn't enough money and even if I'd reached £6K they'd have clawed it back. I was saving for a laptop. Now that I'm not entitled to means-tested help I save every penny. First, because I'm set to lose CB-ESA. Secondly, I'm terrified that one day PIP will be means-tested and that unless a person has UC eligibility they won't get any benefits.

You can see how they stutter when questioned, tying themselves into knots. They need to cut pip to get us into work when you can claim pip and work . Then they need to cut the welfare bill as it’s growing too fast , then there’s rumours of scrapping the two child limit which apparently will cost them exactly what they’ll be taking from us . I’m sure they wake up every day and think what plan can we come up with today .

I don’t think anyone rich can claim benefits apart from pip . Example people owning their own home in a nice area , good incomes etc yet could claim pip if they were disabled. Such as Cameron . I wonder how many MPs actually claim pip now ?

I bet that the people in the care system that give them that care must hate not being able to do more for them. The disabled people's stories in that article were particularly upsetting, I thought.
That's how it should be though, to really get over to people what's really happening. It is a national disgrace. 😱

You're welcome Catherine. 😊 It's brilliant isn't it. 👏😃

The "rich" can claim CB-ESA like me though I'm not "rich". I own a very modest home in a not-nice area. I'm set to lose CB-ESA if the proposals become law. I really don't know how I'll manage. There are a few people on these forums fearful of this forgotten "reform".

Same here.
I worked most of my of my adult life until I got too unwell to continue.
I got a modest lump sum and a pension but I far from being well off.
I live alone and I don't get any help with rent and only 25% single person council tax.
Why should we penalised?
I find it deeply worrying when some disabled claimants put that idea forward.

You can see that they are they are so unsure of themselves. Reeves always goes pale and Loathsome Liz's eyes go black with fury.
What they say is so contradictory and has nothing at all to do with our lived experience in the real world.
They have been trying to mislead everyone for so long that I think that they lost the connection that their lies had to each other long ago. 🙄
They are clutching at straws and they know that everyone they talk to knows it too.

I don’t see how they can leave people to starve . I don’t think any government has done this , not even the Tory’s . In fact if the Tory’s had tried this Labour would be voting against it. These cuts are so extreme I can’t believe they’ll go through. At least I hope they don’t for all our sakes 🤞🙏

The photo of reeves and the bags under her eyes , clearly up all night worrying about the mess she’d made of everything. It seems like a labour thing to have black beady eyes . Starmer is definitely the king rat.
