Do pip call u if they reject claim?

I got a call last week, asking if I'd been abroad, in prison care home since I started the claim I said no, the asked if still on same medication and are my bank details the same and could I handle a lump sum, I said yes, this morning I got a letter from them saying I've been refused pip, mandatory reconsideration, so I'm confused when people were saying I would get it, also the letter was the same day I got a call at 4.45pm weird. henri01
