Thinking about buying a reborn doll
For years I've always wanted to be a mum and it's getting to me now. Even when I was at school everyone had infant reallife simulator and I never had one. Now it seems that feeling is getting even harder to bare even more than finding a boyfriend. @pooleemily29

Hiya . I saw the title and just had to comment . I'm one of those who could never have children I understand your pain emotionally I felt incomplete as a woman for many years . So in brief I took the road of getting a couple of reborns . And you would be surprised how many ladies do have these for there own mental health as I did . It gives me great comfort being able to cradle , change nappiesand even dress them up I feel emotionally attached to them I used to take them out in a pram I can't now , but they do help and fill a little void in my life that has been missing for so long . I would say if you feel so strongly about giving it a try then go for it Hun X

Hi @pooleemily29 I've also heard that they can be really good for some women's mental health challenges and i can understand how they would bring some comfort to somebody who would want to be a mumπ

That is understandable. Especially when youβre unsure how others might react. But remember, what brings you joy and comfort is what truly matters.
People carry all sorts of things in public that reflect their interests or help them feel secure, and your reborn is no different..
Maybe start small in a quiet area, you may feel more comfortable. Then, you could build your confidence from there.

Please do not be scared about taking your reborn out in public . If you think about it logically people are just going about there day business and taking care of there own affairs . And to be fair many mothers wouldn't want strangers near there babies anyway in this day and age . You would be surprised by how many people actually do understand . I seriously wouldnt worry about others reactions because in essence they don't really know your story.

@Lucy_Scope @Catherine21 hi Today i actually got the courage to speak someone about my mental health i told him that having the reborn doll would simulate what its like caring for a baby. Sadly yesterday I told @Lucy_Scope that my baby Henry Charles wasn't coming home with me. And it's really really hurt me i can't stop thinking about it and crying π I feel as though my hearts been crushed and my dreams have been crashed. I've tried explaining it but they still don't get it. They're saying " just have the doll and nothing else"! Because a pram would take up too much space. I don't understand why they are against me having him and taking him out. That's what hurts you can't leave a real baby on its own so I wouldn't have left my baby henry Charles on his own he'd be coming with me everywhere. @pooleemily29

Hi @pooleemily29 Could you perhaps have a Baby Carrier Sling for the reborn doll. You would be able to take him out in that. It would not take up as much space.
I hope you are able to find a solution and are able to have a reborn doll.

@Lucy_Scope hi Lucy I'm still reeling from all of this no one understands they think because both my sisters have children I suddenly want a baby. That's not the case at all I've always wanted to be a mum and the reborn doll would have given the sense of caring for a newborn baby but early this morning i had a panick attack because I woke up imagining baby henry was here with me and he was crying. I've got appointment with the mental health nurse at local surgery on Tuesday I'm going try and explain it to her. @pooleemily29 I ππ’π
