Paper based PIP review

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me as this whole process is spiralling my mental health. I received a text last Thursday 29th May saying you review is complete, please wait for letter. I never had an assessment or anything. They started my review 1st September 2024 and I told them of changes with lots of medical evidence. If I was awarded the higher rate would it be back paid until this date or the original date of 3rd May when my award was due for renewal? Also would this have been in my bank by now. The waiting is literally making me ill and I respect how it says not to phone them…I’m thinking cos no payment has been made it’s either reduced, the same or stopped. Many thanks for reading x

Chances are they are continuing the same award so dates would be irrelevant.
If you think it should have been higher, you can do an MR.

Thanks for replying. I am grateful for any financial support as pip is a stressful process, so I wouldn’t likely manage with a mandatory reconsideration. I’m just not sure if it is the same how it can be due to all the medical evidence sent. It’s sad how we have to fight for what we are entitled to.

Hi @help2024 - with a paper-based asessment, these usually are positive, However, a decision hasn't been made yet on your review.

The decision on this will supercede (overwrite) the one you currently have, & usually (if you hadn't reported a 'Change of circumstances'), if there's an increase in your award it just starts from the date of your decision, tho we have seen some decision makers backdate it further as reviews have been taking a long time.

Kindly let us all know how you get on.
