Hello, All
Hope everyone is well.
Can anyone tell me how long can i be hospital before it affects my Universal credit. I have been in hospital 12 days and should be going home in a day or two. Do I have to inform universal credit when I'm discharged? Would my hospital stay affect the amount of money I receive on other benefits? I would be grateful for any information.
Thank You.

Hi,
Officially you are meant to report any hospital stay of more than 24 hours to Universal Credit. This can be done in your online journal. Payments shouldn't be affected by just a couple of weeks in hospital though.
If you also get PIP, that is not affected until 28 days, at which point it would be paused until you are discharged.
