Hi all so I had to Do my 8yr review form last September as due to run out Dec 2025, I have just had a txt saying that I will have a letter in nxt 2 weeks and I am petrified with all the new rules coming in.

I have brittle asthma since I was 11 multiple icu and induce coma on life support many times and hundreds of hospital admissions over the years plus 8 surgery's for strangulation hernias in a 2 Yr span so suffer with servere stomach problems due to Internal scaring and nerve damage and due to steroids I now have arthritis in the hip (42 Yr old and now looking at hip replacement. I also have a clotting disorder and suffer with dvt and pulmonary embolism in both lungs. And also auto immune disorder due to drugs I am on. I have home oxygen to nebs and on 20 ish drugs including oxycodone long and shortec which makes me really sleepy. I scored 4 in a couple of the daily living components originally. I haven't been asked to go for a face to face review again and I don't know if this is good or bad.has anyone else had thier review and been granted it again without going for a face to face. I have nothing to hide and 5 x 1 foot thick files on my conditions and under the difficult asthma management team but am still really stressed haven't got the breath to fight any negative decisions but working wld be really difficult as have to use oxygen and nebs alot and painkillers. Just so stressed with it all.

Any advice appreciated

Hi @mags1234 and welcome to the community. It's completely understandable why you're feeling worried with everything going on. A lot of other people have expressed similar worries and concerns so you're not alone.

You've had a lot to contend with. It might be worth contacting them upon receipt of your letter to understand if they'll support a telephone assessment rather than a face-to-face to support your needs. It shouldn't have any negative effect on your award, if anything I'd say that having less capacity to attend face-to-face assessments should highlight your day-to-day challenges.

I've added a few additional tags to your post to help other members who might have some helpful advice/reassurance to see it. I hope you're able to change your assessment and it goes well for you.

    Best wishes,

Sorry think I wrote it wrong I don't have to go for a face to face or phone interview I literally sent the review form back last Sept and today I was txt to say my review was done and I ahld have a letter in nxt to weeks to tell me of decision. I am worried they have NOT ASKED TO SEE ME. WORRIED THEY ARE GOING TO SAY NOT ELIGABLE. JUST ASKING IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS HAD REVIEW AMD CARRIED ON GETTING PAYMENTS WITHOUT HAVING ANOTHER FACE TO FACE OR PHONE CONSULT.

    SORRY TO CONFUSE EVERYONE.

Hi @mags1234 please don't apologise, it doesn't take much for me to get confused to be honest. 😊 It's difficult to say for sure unfortunately. Each situation and outcome is unique and not everybody is seen. Hopefully your letter comes to you asap and with some good news.

Hi @mags1234 - & welcome to the community. It sounds like you've had what's called a paper review, so they were able to decide on the info you'd sent, rather than needing to see or speak to you, This is usually a positive sign, so please, if you can, try not to worry.

These paper based reviews don't happen that often, but we have had several members here that have had them, so it's all perfectly normal. Kindly let us all know how you get on.

Thankyou you have put my mind at ease I am hoping for a positive outcome but preparing for the worst although it does seem the paper reviews are normally awarded the same as b4. It was just seeing some people were having phone or face to face consults and just wondered if it was normal not to be asked for a consultation on a review.
