What still reassures me about this whole business is the will to fight for us on the part of some MPs, even when threatened with the loss of the whip or their future careers as Labour politicians. The courage to do that despite all the negativity towards Labour is actually quite impressive. Especially people standing up like this to make a public point.
The government may or may not listen. But I think it does change the narrative because the negative momentum of this is so much greater than even the WFA allowance backlash (and that got mostly reversed now).
Disabled people's voices may not be being heard by the government directly, but there are people within Labour who are listening. Those people deserve to keep their seats, because they are putting the wellbeing of people ahead of their personal gain. You don't see anyone from the Tories or Reform putting their neck out to do that.
Starmer and co are unconscionable, but apparently not the whole party.

This amendment is the brainchild of Meg Hillier - chair of the Treasury select committee. Very much not a serial rebel or critic.
The first names on the amendment will be published tonight at 10.30 - but it’s expect to grow.
so we will have to check this out at 10:300 -
Yeah they have done us proud they keeping up the fight and won't back down even being threatened with deselection

The amendment opposing the Govt’s Welfare Bill has been tabled. I understand 80 MPs have signed and that doesn’t include any of the Socialist Campaign Group who are also opposed. So unless they come up with concessions the Govt would be heading for defeat next wk @itvnews
So officially 80 mps have signed!1 -

Forcing these brutal cuts and then in the next breath pretend they care about protecting the disabled. Can't be both.

What does it all mean ? How can they stop it ? I’ve never heard of this before

I saw earlier the £1 billion they promised to help find the disabled jobs is now £400 million. So that proves they’re fakes
