Welfare concessions
After seeing/hearing about what may now be concessions.I am even more confused as to what this will mean.Does this mean the 4 point rule for pip in a section to qualify will not count?.Do existing claimants still get to keep their pip? Without the extreme stress and worry.Its all very confusing

The way I interpret is that we will still be reassessed when our currant awards expire.

And that's what hasn't been made clear to existing pip claimers on weither we do or don't get to carry on awarded it after a review

I think so much unnecessary stress has been caused by all of this.Even the dates that they sprung on us with a supposed speech that never did happen.Just drip feeding us information over many months.Its been torture.I think ultimately everyone ( even without a political background could see this idea was/could not work.

The only thing I can possibly see happening is them being extremely slippery and taking away on mass benefits from people making even harder than it already is at review perhaps

Think it means we only have to score old points system unless we lose all together then new criteria will apply(at review)

It really is such a **** up.I really think if someone has long term health issues that are unlikely to change.I appreciate that there is a need to review these details but having to go through the entire process again i.e speaking to an assessor an the stress and humiliation of answering the questions is just utterly ridiculous and frankly time wasting hence why it takes months upon months to be given an outcome

I honestly think this gov cannot be trusted..one they tell us they will change how we on pip or uc will be tested…two they change their minds because brave ministers stand against them..smiling starmer cannot be trust..thats my humble opinion.
When it come to my re assessment next november i am sure there will be changes put in olace by then to refuse me pip..i will have turn 70 that july.
And i know i will be a very nervous wreck leading uo to the reassessment

I agree I think we all know now that they cannot be trusted.However there are some labour Ministers that have shown that their values do truly lie with what is right for the disabled.Perhaps because it was so utterly unbelievable what was/is at present still currently being proposed that perhaps even they couldn't sleep easy at night knowing ultimately what that would mean and that they'd had a hand in it

problem with the climb down. PIP claims are reviewed and treated as NEW claims at each review. For e.g. if you are awarded PIP for a 3 year period at or before the end of the period your claim will be reviewed and treated as a NEW CLAIM. Under the revised climb down this would still lead to many thousands of folk losing the benefit at the review stage due to new 4 point rule for NEW claims. Don't be hoodwinked, this is the Govt get out clause !

I think it means that if you are already getting pip, when your review comes you will be assessed under the old points ststem. But new claimants after nov 2027 will be assessed under the new 4 point rule.

@Pirate008 but surely the ministers cant be so blindsided as to not see that this is basically exactly the same thing.Therefore putting those same people (us) into impossible situations.

The Devil is in the detail, until we see that, it is difficult to be 100% sure. However, it puzzles me how they will identify new claimants against existing and separating them when reviews are treated as new claims ie new claimants ?

If she left it as it was talking of putting up taxes was all this done deliberately just don't trust them at all

People who currently receive personal independence payments, or the health element of universal credit, will continue to do so.
I'll soon move from ESA to UC and they are obliged not to reduce my income in that process. That's true for all of us who do that.
I keep copies of my application forms etc, therefore at review I only need to repeat myself in order to maintain my claim. I find that helps me.
The DWP has records of existing claims, that's how they can be distinguished from new claims.
Labour have just taken over running a country which for years has been uncomfortably jammed between a rock and a hard place.
They're trying to work out a solution to an all but impossible problem.
The NHS now funds vastly more than it was set up to do, and the better it does it the more expensive things get. People don't die and medicines/hospitals/care etc continue to get more expensive/complicated.
I certainly don't envy them this task, something's gotta give.
