Need some help
Hiya not sure if posting in the right area, so I'm married and have a house with a mortgage but my mum is newly widowed and isn't in the best of health, I'm looking at moving down to help look after her but don't know where I stand with benefits would I be able to claim housing or anything at all, I currently have pip and contribution based esa.

If you retain your current home you won't be able to claim Universal Credit including help with rent (Housing Element). A house that you don't live in would be counted as capital and take you over the limit for UC which is £16k.
It is possible to get it disregarded for 6 months (potentially more) if it's up for sale.
Should your Mum get a qualifying benefit, you won't be able to claim Carers Allowance as you already get CB ESA.
Is it possible for your Mum to offer you financial support?
