Waited almost a year for my electric wheelchair
So I'm not alone on this fight against Ajm healthcare. Iv waited almost a year waiting for my electric wheelchair .I have called more than 60 times to only hearing my chair in process or my chair is being built or it's the ppl with worse health issues come first i have been awarded a grant for a Electric wheelchair the excuses is not excuses they are called lies.i am unable to leave my flat without an electric wheelchair. I have made a complaint to the NHS a complaint to my Mp/recently and to the ombudsman as a fact I doubt i have many years left in my life well that's 1 year wasted sitting watching through the window and looking at facebook.all the best to everyone x

Hi @wright669 welcome to teh community. I hope you're keeping well?
That sounds like quite a rollercoaster of emotions, but at least it sounds like there's some movement finally.1 -
Sadly I think this must happen a lot. I live near Cardiff and have been waiting now for 18 months for one from the wheelchair service. I can’t manage without one and just had no choice but to buy one independently. But not everyone has the means to do that. Complaining doesn’t seem to achieve much in my experience. Disability doesn’t come cheap. Most people don’t realise the extra costs we incur. I hope you get one soon.
