I updated my savings as I had a back payment and the 12 month disregard was up and I still had over 6k so I updated on UC journal and they made an appointment at JCP and requested a few months bank statements etc. I did that and they are now deducting a certain amount because I’m over 6k . I will be having to update monthly now because I’ll have money left over every month , I’m just really anxious that now I’ll have to go into JCP every time I update my savings.
Does anyone have over 6k and update savings monthly ? And do they want an extra evidence JCP appt every time you update?
Also when you update is it always a change of circumstances on UC journal and should I then leave a message on journal too ?
I thought when you update savings they just make the required deductions, I just can’t deal with going into JCP every month .

Hi @letitbe sorry for the delay, you may have already had an answer to this by now. If you have, I'd love to know. From what I've found, there's nothing that say's you should have to go in every time, just to provide the details and keep records of your savings should it be required. I'm hoping this was a one off and you've not had to go in for the months following.

I'm still updating my savings every month as above £6k. My savings go up and down. Still never been asked to provide statements or even had any personal journal acknowledgement of updating savings, just the auto-generated 'action completed' message.

I did add a journal message the first couple of times, but they're obviously not reading them so I haven't bothered since. I am expecting a review at some point, but as I have no idea when it will be, it's not at the front of my mind.
