I am student with the open university who has a profound hearing loss. I am feeling a bit lonely at the moment and would love to make new friends. I live in the dorset area so a big hi to anyone on here who is local!

Hello @mrsgromit and welcome to the community.
As an individual I stood alone.
As a member of a group I did things.
As part of a community I helped to create change! -
Hi @mrsgromit
Welcome to the community! I think loneliness effects so many people, have you tried looking what is going on locally?
You could try searching facebook for local groups or seeing your GP, library or community centre to see what is in your local area. There is a website called meetup that advertises groups and you can search on area and interest.
You can also chat away on the community here, we are a friendly bunch and always like chatting with new members.Scope
