Hi, I'm in receipt of the lower rate of IIDB which works out around £66.00 weekly I have since come over to UC and have now found out this is classed as an income, I have just found out I have an acquired brain injury due to an accident my UC will be paid fortnightly and I'm trying to work out how much will be deducted could someone please tell me if this will be taken weekly or fortnightly, thanks,

    Hi,

    Universal Credit is always calculated per month, even if you get paid twice-monthly.

    The earnings deduction will be split roughly between the two payments each month.

    So if you get £66 a week IIDB, the deduction from UC would also be £66 a week. That works out as roughly £143 taken from each UC payment.
