How long does Universal Credit transitional protection last?
Last year, I moved from Tax Credits to Universal Credit, and my award included transitional protection.
Please let me know how long Universal Credit transitional protection lasts.
I have been on Universal Credit for 13 months and still receive transitional protection.
I thought transitional protection was only for the first 12 months.

Transitional Protection reduces as the elements you are entitled to go up, or new elements are added.
It ends with a major change of circumstances such as changing between single/couples claim.
How long it takes to reduce to zero will vary from person to person.
Perhaps you are thinking about the 12 month capital disregard, when migrating from Tax Credits with £16k+ of capital.

Hi @rbz, transitional protection can go on for longer than 12 months but it will usually erode over time. A change in your income or a significant change of circumstances can also bring it to an end.
