hi community.. new to all and glad to be here

I have received a text to say I need to complete a ten year review form. My health hasn’t improved … unfortunately deteriorated.. age and condition caught up.

I am very anxious about the review outcome… do I need to be worried

look forward to your feedback Thanks in advance

Jo

Hi @Jo1954 bless you, that's understandable you feel this way. Especially as it's been so long since you last did one so the process probably feels almost new now. 10 years is considered a long reward and as you've stated your condition has worsened (sorry to hear that), I wouldn't think that you'd need to worry. But make sure you share your supportive evidence. I hope it's a fairly swift process for you.

thank you for replying so quickly.. I can’t help worrying as the planned cutbacks are in the press daily….apart from doctor and repeat prescriptions I don’t have supportive evidence…I just hope that will be enough.

    Again many thanks

Hi Jo1954….why don’t you have supportive evidence? If you’ve been on benefits for 10 years + someone thought at one time you qualified for UC . What ‘condition’ do you have? No NHS record? I doubt repeat prescriptions will cut it. Whatever you can get will help. Your GP should be able to help, if not get them to refer you to specialist consultant. Don’t let the ‘system’ grind you down. The Govt. are looking to curtail/stop benefits - so don’t give them the chance.

Historic evidence is still evidence. When my lifelong DLA was ceased and I was invited to apply for PIP almost all the evidence was old stuff. Like you, I got a 10-year award. A contact had a 10-year review last year. He was given another 10-year award.

Morning @Jo1954 ahh yes, the media doesn't help a lot of the time. A lot of scare mongering. I hope you're able to keep yourself somewhat distracted 😊
