Loss of PIP entitlement

I lost my PIP in December of 2023 until May of 2024 and when it was reinstated my car payment was not paid. I was told all goes back to normal…
Fast forward to last week, I had to return my car when i was told that I cannot have a new car because of this shortfall, to this point i had no clue about that. I'm on benefits and can't afford £1500. Any ideas on help or how please? I'd welcome any suggestions, comments or advice anyone can offer. My car is my lifeline. I had my car before my latest diagnosis of lymphodema and need it more than ever…
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Hi,
When you say the PIP was reinstated, did you not get any backpayment to cover the time in between? The backpayment should have included the Mobility money if that wasn't being paid directly to Motability for the car.

There has been a similar case recently on this forum. I gather you were allowed to keep your motability car until your PIP was reinstated. The back dated pay you received will have included the money for the motability car. You should then have paid what you owed on your car with the back dated money. The £1,500 would have been in the back dated pay.
Only thing I can think of, is you continue to pay Motability for a car with your PIP mobility element until you have paid the £1,500 you owe, but it will mean you will not have a motability car for 5 months or the length of time you owe for! May be this can be arranged in your case and Motability get back what is owed. Then you continue as normal.
