I'm beside myself with what the future holds feel so bad everyday I wake up made worse by seeing psyctrist can't spell she stopped all my meds just overnight ???? The mental anguish is unbearable she spoke to my doctor so he's doing noting I can't maintain this level of stress daily it's torture panic attacks felt like having heart attack yesterday I feel the world changing I think having adhd makes you aware of everything the ability to see outside the box I'm very very scared

Really sorry to hear that @Catherine21 they'd not have stopped your meds for no reason and usually would taper you off them. What did they say?

Honestly she's awful she said oh god God you don't need all this medication I was weaned off amtriplyine through my choice but the other antidepressants she said taken off my file and to stop them??? Also she spoke to my doctor so he's not responding to my concerns and withdrawing symptoms she says I definitely have adhd but medication fir adhd doesn't do anything she's really scrambled my head I felt ok after our initial session but as time goes on I'm clueless what's happening she ends session and doesn't give follow up dates noting I wish I didn't start seeing her the thoughts she's put in my head are horrific

I think this is probably a conversation for a different discussion. But it sounds like you need to be totally open and honest with her, as otherwise she won't know and will carry on doing the same thing! I'm sure she has her reasons and they may well be very correct, but a bit more communication wouldn't hurt.

There we go, I've made our chat a new discussion so others dont lose any information from the other discussion, I hope that's ok?

I'm guessing she has a lot of patients, so some forgetfulness is to be forgiven, but she really should have everything in her notes about you. I'm guessing things can sometimes get confused, but something like stopping medication wont have been done without a very good reason. So it's worth asking again for an answer. If you have the NHS app, it may well say on your patient history notes?

By eck luv, you’re having a mare of a time of it. The fact they’re taking you off med without consent is ludicrous. As Albus said they should have tapered your dose off over a gradual time frame. Not literally cut you off at the knees! It’s ridiculous that she isn’t listening to you and neither is your GP. Your Safety and Wellbeing should be paramount above anything and they’re neglecting their duties. Your Psychiatrist, don’t want to come across as crass - but she sounds like she has cotton wool between her ears and tunnel vision.

I have had ADHD for over 35 years, alongside Autism and when folk ask me how they affect me - I just used to shrug my shoulders and say don’t know, because I had lived with those conditions all of my life I guess I just became masked to the affects of them. It’s only since October 2023 that I have been able to take a step back with blinked removed and see how they affect me.

I’m not on medication for my ADHD, but I do take two forms of antidepressant’s for my mental health along side Diazepam for my Anxiety.

When I saw that she had mentioned BPD it sent a shiver down my spine as I was diagnosed with emotionally unstable borderline personality disorder 2 years ago.

Every minute of the day you don’t know who you are, you don’t recognise who is looking back at you out of the mirror, you always question every single thing you do, right down to a microscopic level, your always angry at yourself, you do no know who you are, your always saying sorry, you fear abandonment etc.

Your mind is always going at 100mph and never stops.

I feel your pain and we are always here you to talk to.

If you get to bad, please call a crisis line, dial 999 or take yourself to A&E, please stay safe ❤️
