LCWRA Reassessment

Hi there!

I recently got awarded LCWRA. I obtained my report and on that it said recommended for reassessment in 12 months.

With all the changes that are happening is this likely to happen? For one, it is supposed to be merging with the PIP Assessment isn’t it? I’ve also seen information online that reassessments have stopped.

I do also receive PIP - gaining 10 points on my last award but that runs out in April 2026. I’ve just completed my PIP review forms but I hear that’s taking around a year.

Thanks

UC and ESA have a huge backlog for LCW/LCWRA review cases, it is unlikely you will receive a renewal form for that in 12 months. Besides, as you have said, it is a 'recommendation' and not set in stone.

Your renewal PIP decision shouldn't bear weight on your existing UC award. You don't need to worry.

Cheers @bg844. So is my LCWRA claim likely to be reassessed any point at all?

But next time my LCWRA award will be dependent on my PIP award as the assessments are migrating? (I know this won’t be in time for my existing PIP renewal in April 2026?

Apologies, I have only just come online. Yes, LCWRA will most likely be reviewed, just most likely after the 12 month mark. The award being dependent on PIP won’t come in to force until 2028, changes to assessments also won’t happen overnight, but instead will be staggered.
