When do I let council tax know about migrating to UC, I'm doing it in Oct .
Also are you allowed to volunteer with UC ?

The council will know when you migrate, shouldn't be any need to tell them separately.
Yes you're allowed to volunteer. If you earn any money from that then it has to be declared as income. (But won't affect your UC unless it's more than £411 a month).
