U c migration /private landlords

a friend of mine has to make a claim to u c as he has some mental health issues , he has a private landlord and he doesn’t want them to know he’s going on u c ! Does u c contact private landlords ? I’ve asked this question before and somebody said they don’t. . Buts there is lots of different information online that contradicts its self , appreciate some feedback , so can reassure my friend !

Hey there @sweet If your friend is not claiming anything towards housing, then no, the DWP would have no reason to contact their landlord. Does their landlord state no benefits claimants or similar?

UC won't contact his landlord.

UC only contact landlords if a claimant lives in social housing.
