thinking of leaving my job
Hello
I have mild cerebral palsy and I had been working since I was 18 years old full time, then part time.
When I turned 40 my health rapidly got worst. I started to have other health issues as well. Doctor can’t help much.
I have reasonable adjustments at work, but I am still struggling. I have a lot of pain, fatigue and loosing concentration, it started to affect my work.
I am thinking of leaving my job, maybe if I have a year off, get rest, and then can go back to workforce. But I am absolutely terrified to do it because of benefits cut agenda.
I am worried what am I going to do if I leave my job and they will take away my PIP.
Will I be able to find other job later? What is I still will be unwell and will have no money?
I just wanted to ask if any of you experienced similar situation.
What options do I have?
Thank you.

Sorry to hear you're struggling at work @dblg0503 would a review of your reasonable adjustments help maybe? Or a reduction in hours?
Unfortunately there's no way of guaranteeing getting another job in the current jobs market. But your PIP should be safe for as long as your award lasts, then of course it would all depend on the PIP review, but there would still be the chance for MRs and a tribunal. Remember it doesn't matter if you work or not with PIP, it's all about how your condition affects you daily.

I am sorry to hear this. Have you had the chance to look at assistive technology that may make your experience easier at work?
