PIP Appeal - New Claim?

I used to receive PIP, but after reassessment Capita/DWP decided my progressive conditions have improved and so I wasn't entitled to the benefit anymore. I appealed the decision and have just received the letter for my tribunal hearing. At the top it says 'PIP New Claims Appeal'. Is this terminology correct, or do I need to question it? I interpret 'new claim' as a first application, rather than being an existing claimant who had their benefit stopped, but not sure if my interpretation is correct?

Hi @Storm25 that's a good question. I'll be honest, I'm not sure and when I've looked the only letters I have seen do state that. However, as it's so important being the tribunal, I would definitely ask the question if you haven't already.

    Thanks Holly.

I did e-mail the charity who were helping me with the appeal, but didn't get a reply about it. So, I left it as I am so worried I will make a mistake if I try to do things myself.

I'm pleased you've got some support and I'm sure if they had any concerns they'd raise them on your behalf. I wish you the best with your tribunal @Storm25 😊 please keep us up to date if you're happy to.

Thanks @Holly_Scope The charity didn't reply about whether to query it saying 'New Claim', so it was left as it was.
