A few days ago, a contact was telling me that she had a free boiler fitted by British gas on the grounds that her late husband was disabled. I assume he received DLA or PIP.
Both the husband and wife were retired professional people on, I should think, very good private pensions as well as the State Pension.
This is obviously not a means-tested service. It struck me that my now deceased family probably lost out on a small fortune over about 25 years. Now I'm by myself on a minute income but no income-related benefits:
Thus, my questions:
- How do you get a free boiler and how old does your current boiler have to be to be replaced? Mine is relatively new.
- Is there help towards new/ additional radiators?
