Hamsters are great, I agree! I had three hamsters when I was a wee lad. My first one was a golden Syrian hamster. ๐Ÿน

    Feeling good today.

Out to our social club later to see a live band and play bingo.

I misread that as 'play the banjo'. And I was confused, as you intended to have a good time!

Just in case people missed it, I've created the antithesis to this discussion, where it's all about grumbling.๐Ÿ˜

About three weeks ago, my shiny new wetroom was completed, an absolute life changer ๐Ÿ˜, plus, they rearranged half my kitchen. Had a call today, that the company fitting a height adjustable kitchen worktop to the other half are coming on Thursday morning. ๐Ÿ˜Ž I have another silly great grin on my face. ๐Ÿ˜† Just the auto opening front door & intercom moving to the lounge left to be done & I'm all set. ๐Ÿคธ All thanks to my OT & the Disability Facilites Grant. ๐Ÿ’

I hope your wait isn't quite as long as mine, @Chris75_, 3 1/2 years. But, it's life changing & worth the wait. Had a call this morning, work top will now be next Tuesday as one part not arrived, which is fine, I know it is coming & the grin is still there. ๐Ÿ˜

It probably will be, Jessie, I haven't even had the OT visit yet!

My wet room and power toilet took just over a year, and the plumber in charge of the job (never seen a plumber in charge of joiners before, lol, the sparky was more a free spirit who drifted in and out of his own accord), he was surprised with my short wait.

Well, I'd say yours was a short wait then, @Chris75_ & the guys that did it sound characters. I was told by my OT that it was normally about a year, but because of the Covid backlog it would be about 18 months. ๐Ÿ˜†

My OT came via the Community Independence Team, via my GP. All that happened pretty quickly & CIT covered all sorts of things, simple aids, DEXA scan, fall risk assessment, plus other things. Then the OT arrived shortly after. Maybe your system works differently. Are you going to get your doors widened?

ETA: Forgot the happy bit, Hampshire Women won their semi today in real drudgy conditions & are in the final also to be held at the Utilita Bowl. I had faith in them, I already had my ticket for the Sunday final. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am the first tenant in this house, and it already has the 900 mm wide doors. They were intended for disabled people, or older couples.

Do you know what, Jessie, it's quite alarming how few of the original intake are still alive! This is a new street, built on the site of a former care home, and we all moved in at the same time.

It's actually quite weird for me when I look out at the back gardens, as I used to deliver bread to the care home, and recognise trees etc.

That's good then, Chris, one less thing to worry about & you have wriggle room. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Alarming is right, were most elderly?

It would be weird returning there with it gone, new rebuilds & under different circumstances.

BTW, happy news, Big Bertha was delivered back this afternoon, I was out in her 30mins later, so Hattie had a proper long walk today. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
