UC Migration - Claimant Commitment not done

Hi all, I have recently moved from ESA to universal credit after receiving a migration letter, Everything went smooth and I have received payments in June, July and August which where for the correct amount and included my LCWRA element in each monthly payment, But it looks like I have slipped through the new style ESA net, as when I was claiming ESA I was in receipt of contribution based ESA and going by other posts I have read I should have been switched over to new style ESA and received a phone call from a work coach to agree to a claimant commitment when I migrated over to universal credit, I was definitely in receipt of contribution based ESA as they sent me a letter a few weeks after submitting my universal credit application letting me know how much contribution based ESA they had paid me since April, So I am posting to see if any kind member can offer any advice on what next steps I should take over this or should I simply do nothing as I hate dealing with the dwp as I have mental health and speech issues and I think I am financially better off per month on universal credit.

I was transferred over from incapacity benefit to contribution based ESA in 2010

Any advice or help would be really appreciated

    I haven't had the phone call either. Just letters confirming the amounts.

    Migrated on the 14th Aug and receiving the correct amounts £281.10 nsesa every 2 weeks and monthly £214.36 UC (including the £609.05 esa deduction) which I received yesterday. Had the run on payment of £325.50 and the next one was correct at £281.10, but my journal has said nothing in the to do list since I submitted my claim

    @bellatango I'm not sure what the timelines are for getting the claimant commitment done, but if they haven't asked you to do anything yet then I wouldn't worry. If they need to do a phone call then hopefully they'll get in touch.

    Update The DWP never did get in touch so I left things as they are as being in receipt of new style ESA would more than likely led to an increase in council tax and not qualifying for free dental treatment and prescriptions.

    Hi,

    As you would still be on UC as well, that means you would still qualify for free dental and prescriptions while getting both UC & NS ESA.

    Council Tax is managed locally so I can't say whether that would be affected by NS ESA.

    Financially it makes no difference as NS ESA would have been deducted in full from UC. The only difference is the class of National Credits you get. NS ESA provides class 1, while UC only provides Class 3. But it makes no difference to the state pension amount when you reach that anyway. The only other benefit of NS ESA is that it's not means tested. So If you get an inheritance or a lottery win, UC would stop but you would continue to get NS ESA.
